Charbel Al Khoury

b. 1993

BA in Photography and Multimedia, Notre Dame University

Charbel draws inspiration from urban legends and mythologies, investigating their truths and drawing links to contemporary issues. He has been interested in mixing reality with fiction, and facts with literature. This is most evident in his latest series Pathogen 1990, based on the urban tale of Beirut’s harrowing cityscape after the war. His previous work has been exhibited in collective shows at Art Factum Gallery and Beirut Design Week. More recently, Pathogen 1990 was exhibited at Haven House, Beirut.
